Challenge:Poker Taverns sought to create a web site where poker lovers could identify places to play texas hold 'em in tournaments in their city. They would partner with tavens in cities across the US to host tournaments on their low revenue night.
Solution:The PokerTaverns.com web site gives players access to tournament locations and the ability to register for various tournaments. They can also view information on how they placed in each tournament and the points they earned for wins and their ranking among other players. A message board was created for players to share information. The taverns have the ability on a subscription basis to post their information and schedule the nights for tournaments.
Benefits:Texas hold 'em players have a resource for playing in tournaments, tracking their results, and communicating with other texas hold 'em players. The taverns have exposure for their bars on the site and the ability to bring in customers on traditionally slow nights.
